Ramsey

Ramsey YFC, well where do we start? I suppose we should firstly mention and most importantly of all, we came first in the 2006 Cambridgeshire YFC Rally competition! Yes yes I know its not the taking part but the winning that counts, or is it the other way round? Seriously though, that’s the main drive of Ramsey YFC is to take part and give it a go, even if you do make a fool of yourself, which we are all to familiar with, (I won’t talk about our attempt at cheerleading!) Like anything we believe the more you put into something the more you get out of it, which is why we always make a conscious effort to attend all YFC events and host them too, like our Stall at Ramsey Plough Day, Halloween Disco, Valentines ball, End of year BBQ, 1950’s farming competition and Spring Fling Ball which were all great success’s.  But these wouldn’t have been what they were without the planning and hard work from our members, and also the great turn out by other YFC clubs to make the events so enjoyable and a pleasure to host.

When we’re not organising our own events we have a packed programme with various visits to places like- Peterborough Rowing Club, Cromwell Veterinary Surgery, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and Hinchingbrooke Hospital Ambulance Station. Talks from The Police Dog Section, Drink and Drugs Sense and Magpas. Activities such as Bowling, Laser Quest, The Cinema, Grey Hounds Racing and Quiz’s.

When we’re not doing all of the above we socialise as a club and friends which is really what Young Farmers is all about.
